Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS).
• Ability to understand and code medical records.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong organizational and follow-through abilities.
• Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Remote work environment with periodic onsite presence as needed.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses, procedures, and operations from patient records using ICD-10-CM.
• Assign accurate CPT and HCPCS codes based on documentation.
• Consult practice designee for questions on diagnoses or terminology to assign accurate codes.
• Enter final diagnostic codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensure coding compliance with regulatory agencies and internal procedures.
• Report coding discrepancies to Directors for accuracy.
• Provide information in response to coding questions.
• Abstract and retrieve medical data for evaluation and research.
• Promote compliance with Code of Conduct and related agreements.
• Remote work environment with periodic onsite presence.
