Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center seeks a detail‑oriented Medical Coder to join the Revenue Cycle team. You will review documentation, assign codes, and support compliance to ensure accurate reimbursement for hospital and clinic services.

This remote, 40‑hour week position offers a pay range of $26.38–$36.98 per hour based on experience, with non‑exempt status and opportunities to collaborate with providers and staff to improve documentation quality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with professional certification in medical coding (AAPC/AHIMA/CPC).
• Strong knowledge of medical coding guidelines, conventions and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to review documentation and assign accurate diagnostic/procedural codes with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract medical records by reviewing hospital and clinic encounters and assigning codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy and regulatory compliance to support reimbursement and reporting.
• Review clinical documentation to verify diagnoses, procedures, and services; identify discrepancies.
