Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a meticulous Medical Coder to join our Revenue Cycle team in a remote role. You will review clinical documentation, assign accurate codes, and ensure compliant coding for hospital and clinic services to support appropriate reimbursement.

Under the Revenue Cycle Director, you’ll collaborate with providers and staff, participate in audits, and drive continuous improvement while upholding confidentiality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; AAPC/AHIMA/CPC certification required.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret clinical documentation and identify diagnoses and procedures.
• Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract medical records with diagnostic and procedural codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review clinical documentation to verify supported diagnoses and services.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and potential billing issues.
