Job summary

ThedaCare in Neenah, Wisconsin seeks a Clinic - II Coder to review CPT/ICD-10-CM coding for primary care and specialty services, ensuring accurate reflection of services and adherence to coding standards.

The role audits medical records, collaborates with providers, and educates staff to improve documentation; a remote, full-time coding position supporting ThedaCare Physician Services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of experience in general medical or specialty coding.
• Coding certificate or associate's degree in medical business or coding/health information.
• AAPC or AHIMA coding certification (CPC, CPC-A or CCS or CCS-P) required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and assigns CPT and ICD-10-CM codes for primary care and specialty clinic services with high accuracy.
• Performs documentation reviews and shares results with providers and auditing team; identifies educational opportunities.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical staff to ensure complete and clear medical records for accurate coding.
• Manages payer denials and claim edits to ensure timely reimbursement; researches payer policies.
• Maintains charge capture for all billable services and responds to inquiries with world-class service.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Coding certificate or associate’s degree in medical business or coding/health information

AAPC or AHIMA coding certification (CPC, CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P)
