Evara Health is hiring a Certified Coder to review and validate codes across departments, ensuring accurate reimbursement and compliance. This remote role travels to Pinellas County as needed and supports coding quality measures with the healthcare team.

You will audit encounters, verify ICD/CPT/HCPCS usage, and collaborate with providers to resolve documentation gaps. AAPC or AHIMA certification is required, with 1–3 years in coding or billing and EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in medical coding or billing field required
• Proficient in medical terminology
• Third party payer knowledge gained through experience or education required
• Working knowledge of medical billing systems like Medicare, Medicaid, EMR, etc.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and appropriate reimbursement.
• Audit patient encounters across departments for completeness and coding accuracy before claims submission.
• Verify ICD, CPT, and HCPCS code assignments using coding guidelines and reference materials.
• Review provider documentation to ensure coding supports services rendered and quality measures.
