Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Fully Remote Medical Coder. These positions can sit anywhere in the US, though the role is aligned to EST time zone. A CPC certification (not expired) and 1+ year of medical coding experience are required, with candidates supplying their own equipment.

Coders will review provider and payer submissions, decide correct codes, and determine recommended payments, passing cases to QA for review. Experience in emergency services, inpatient coding, or DRG coding is beneficial.

Qualifications

• CPC certification (not expired) required.
• 1+ year medical coding experience.
• Own equipment/computer required.
• Experience or exposure to inpatient coding, emergency services coding or DRG coding preferred.
• Awareness of HIPAA is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review provider and payer documentation to assign correct codes for payment.
• Determine correct codes and recommended payment amounts.
• Pass cases to QA for final review and ensure accurate coding throughput.
• Work on Emergency Services, inpatient coding, or DRG coding scenarios.
