Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS required.
• Experience coding and auditing outpatient, observation, ED, and outpatient diagnostic encounters.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience using electronic encoder applications and coding systems.
• Ability to interpret clinical documentation and discuss coding queries with physicians.
• Proven track record of 98% coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient services, ED, and observation.
• Query physicians for clarification on diagnoses and procedures.
• Utilize encoder tools and company policies to code accurately.
• Perform coding quality audits and prepare audit reports for leadership.
• Maintain productivity while achieving at least 98% accuracy.
