Cognizant is seeking an Emergency Department Coder to ensure accurate coding across outpatient surgery, observation, emergency department, and diagnostic encounters. You will review documentation, code using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and work with physicians to clarify diagnoses.

This fully remote role offers the ability to work from home with reliable internet and a dedicated workspace. Candidates must hold CPC or CCS or equivalent, maintain 98% accuracy, and participate in audits; salary ranges

Qualificações

• Certified CPC, CCS or equivalent certification.
• Experience coding and auditing outpatient, observation, ED and diagnostic encounters.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience using electronic encoder applications and healthcare coding systems.
• Ability to interpret complex clinical documentation and discuss queries with physicians.
• Proven ability to meet productivity goals while maintaining 98% accuracy.

Responsabilidades

• Review clinical documentation and accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient surgery, observation, ED and diagnostic encounters.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to obtain clarification on diagnoses and procedures via coding queries.
• Use encoder tools to assign codes in line with policies and guidelines.
• Perform peer reviews and quality audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and deliver coding audit reports, findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Maintain a minimum coding accuracy rate of 98% while meeting productivity standards.
