Job summary

MiraVista Behavioral Health Center in Devens, Massachusetts, is seeking a Medical Coder to join its multidisciplinary HIM team. The role focuses on accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT coding for hospital and professional inpatient visits, with emphasis on Medicare and related payers, in a WellSky EMR environment.

Successful candidates will hold AHIMA and/or AAPC credentials, with psychiatric coding experience and a strong commitment to ongoing education and regulatory compliance to ensure high-quality

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in an AHIMA approved program.
• AHIMA certification (CCA) with credentials within one year of hire.
• AAPC certification with credentials within one year of hire.
• Medical Coding certification and/or 2+ years of psychiatric ICD-10-CM and CPT coding with E/M.
• Ability to code from ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT-4 using TruBridge Encoder.
• Ability to code for 1+ hospital locations.
• Medicare and Medicare-like insurance coding for behavioral health services.
• Maintain credentials and continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Code hospital and professional inpatient visits using ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Work under supervision of the Director of HIM.
• Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and payer regulations.
• Abstract data elements into the WellSky EMR platform.
• Review edits, MCCs/CCs, coding order, and DRG assignment with TruBridge encoder.
