Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a remote Medical Coder to abstract, code, sequence and interpret clinical information from various medical records.

You will assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures using DRG/APC expertise while ensuring HIPAA and regulatory compliance. The role requires a completed AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certificate with two years post-certification experience, EPIC and CAC experience, and ability to work in a remote home-office setting.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program with two years of post certification experience is required.
• Experience coding inpatient, outpatient, ED and pro fee records.
• Knowledge of AHIMA, AMA, AHA, CMS coding conventions and HIPAA/HITECH standards.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code medical data into software/encoders, following official guidelines.
• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures with correct sequencing.
• Utilize DRG/APC reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes.
• Maintain 95% quality rating and track productivity in specified systems.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Extract pertinent data from health records for reports and billing documents.
• Enter codes into client systems and maintain relationships with business partners.
