Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in Columbia, SC for a remote, full-time role. You will manage A/R follow-up, pursue denied claims, and work with multiple payers to ensure accurate, timely payments.

The position supports hospital and physician billing with familiarity of UB-04/HCFA 1500. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in healthcare revenue cycle, experience with major EHR/billing systems, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience.
• Experience with hospital and/or physician billing.
• Strong knowledge of UB-04 and HCFA 1500.
• Proficiency with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, McKesson, Allscripts, or Soarian.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform second-tier insurance follow-up on outstanding A/R.
• Resolve denied, underpaid, and unresolved claims.
• Remediate aged accounts and address payer issues.
• Submit corrected claims, rebills, secondary billing, and appeals as needed.
• Accurately document account activities and correspondence.
