Job summary

Raintree Systems is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist - Medical Claims for a fully remote position within designated U.S. states. You will ensure accurate, compliant billing and reimbursement for multispecialty medical services from various insurers and patients.

Role involves collecting unpaid accounts, re-billing, posting payments, handling adjustments, and processing appeals while adhering to HIPAA and payer guidelines. Strong attention to detail and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Medical Insurance Claims billing preferred.
• Minimum 7 years plus of experience required

Responsibilities

• Prepare and re-submit clean claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper per payer guidelines.
• Analyze and correct first pass rejected claims for second pass submission.
• Follow up on primary and secondary billing claim statuses for assigned plans.
• Process all claim appeals with required documentation.
• Suggest account adjustments/write-offs based on collectability.
• Identify and report billing problems to management to resolve trends.
• Generate and send monthly patient balance statements per EOBs.
• Review delinquent accounts and collect overdue payments.
• Answer patient questions about billing and payments.
• Investigate or direct patient inquiries to appropriate staff.
