Trinity Health is seeking a remote Billing and Follow-Up Specialist to support the revenue cycle team. You will perform daily billing tasks, document claims, and collaborate with hospital departments to resolve discrepancies.

The role requires hospital billing experience, Medicare knowledge, and proficiency with Office tools and Epic. Strong communication, organization, and time management will help ensure timely payments and accurate reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and completion of Trinity Health Trainee program or at least one year of related revenue cycle experience in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Experience with hospital billing follow-up including Medicare/Medicare Advantage preferred, supports Florida state requirements.
• Experience with Epic is highly desirable.
• Basic MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for internal and external customers.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilités

• Performs daily billing and follow-up as part of the revenue cycle team.
• Documents claims billed, paid, settled, and follow-up in appropriate systems.
• Identifies and escalates issues affecting billing and follow-up activities.
• Contacts payer directly for payment due and responds to mail promptly.
• Clarifies billing discrepancies with hospital departments and gathers required information.
• Investigates overpayments, underpayments, and delays; routes to correct workflows to maximize reimbursement.
• Researches claim rejections, applies corrections, and refers to colleagues as needed.
• Follows up on delayed payments by contacting patients and third-party payers.
• Prepares reports as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, Trinity Health policies, and compliance programs.
