Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with a strong background in medical billing, coding, and insurance processes. The role requires accurate knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and experience using EHR/EMR systems to ensure timely reimbursement from patients and payers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with clinical staff and administrators to resolve denials and improve revenue cycle

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical billing and coding experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers.
• Perform medical coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards.
• Generate and communicate cost estimates for procedures based on coverage.
• Review and verify billing data within EHR/EMR prior to submission.
• Utilize EHR/EMR platforms (Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis) for workflows.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies or claim denials.
• Prepare and submit insurance appeals per payer guidelines.
• Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and coverage.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, payer rules, and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims to maximize revenue.
