Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with strong experience in medical billing, coding, insurance processes, and working within EHR/EMR systems. The role emphasizes accuracy and clear communication with patients and payers to ensure timely reimbursements.

The ideal candidate has ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding knowledge, CPC/CCS certification preferred, and at least 2 years in billing, coding, and insurance follow-up.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• CPC or CCS certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in medical billing, coding, insurance follow-up.
• Proficiency with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic/Meditech/PrognoCis).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurers and third parties.
• Code procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS.
• Generate cost estimates based on coverage and contracts.
• Verify billing data in EHR/EMR before submission.
• Use EHR/EMR platforms for billing workflows.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denials.
• Prepare and submit insurance appeals following payer guidelines.
• Communicate with patients about billing questions.
• Stay updated on medical terminology and payer regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on claims.
