Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with a strong background in medical billing, coding, and insurance processes. You will process claims, perform ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS coding, generate cost estimates, and verify data in EHR/EMR systems.

Experience with Epic, Meditech, or PrognoCis is preferred, along with CPC/CCS certification and 2+ years in medical billing. Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential; a remote-work option may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• CPC or CCS certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding.
• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic/Meditech/PrognoCis).
• Familiar with payer guidelines and HIPAA compliance.
• Ability to communicate with patients and payers.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Experience creating cost estimates and submitting appeals.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to payers.
• Code procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS.
• Generate cost estimates based on coverage and contracts.
• Verify billing data in EHR/EMR before submission.
• Use EHR/EMR platforms for documentation and billing workflows.
• Resolve claim denials and discrepancies.
• Submit insurance appeals in compliance with guidelines.
• Communicate billing questions to patients.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on claims.
• Maintain knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and payer rules.
• Collaborate with clinical staff for accurate coding.
