Job summary

WellMed is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the WellMed Task Force remotely from anywhere in the United States. The MA will assist physicians, perform basic procedures, and help maintain patient flow and documentation in a compliant, high‑quality care setting.

You will need a Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain it within 180 days, plus a current BLS certification. Strong communication and reliability are essential in a remote home office role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or able to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to work remotely from home office with reliable internet connection.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medical Assistant duties including basic wound care, specimen collection, venipuncture and EKGs.
• Operates and troubleshoots diagnostic equipment.
• Rooms patients and prepares them for examinations.
• Documents patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Coordinates patient care with physicians and the clinical team.
• Adheres to infection control, privacy, and confidentiality standards.
