Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration to design, analyze and optimize industrial refrigeration systems across the enterprise. The role includes ammonia, CO2 and Freon systems, with focus on safety, reliability and energy efficiency.

This remote role or onsite at distributed locations offers engagement with EHS, asset management and capital engineering teams to support maintenance, upgrades and system modernization across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration.
• Hands-on experience with ammonia (NH3) and Freon refrigeration systems.
• Strong knowledge of PSM and RMP compliance requirements.
• Experience overseeing capital projects and system upgrades.
• Ability to travel to operating sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems using ammonia, CO2, and Freon refrigerants.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and system documentation.
• Evaluate performance and recommend improvements for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis of refrigeration issues.
• Support Design and Construction teams to set design standards for the company.
