Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration to design, analyze, and optimize industrial refrigeration systems across the enterprise. You will apply expertise in ammonia, CO2, and Freon-based systems to ensure safe operation, reliability, and energy efficiency in support of operational objectives.

This remote role covers the United States (excluding Hawaii and territories). A PE or EIT credential and a Mechanical Engineering degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration with NH3 and Freon.
• Strong knowledge of PSM and RMP compliance.
• Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Ability to travel >25% to operating sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems (NH3/CO2/Freon).
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and documentation.
• Evaluate performance and recommend safety/reliability improvements.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Design and Construction to set design standards.
