Job summary

AfterQuery Experts is seeking a mechanical engineer for a remote, project-based role with hands-on CAD experience. You will work on mechanical designs, analysis, documentation, and product development support on a flexible, asynchronous basis, typically 10–20 hours per week.

This position offers competitive pay up to $100/hour, exposure to real-world engineering challenges, and the chance to contribute to an early-stage, YC-backed startup.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in at least one major CAD platform (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CATIA, NX, or equivalent).
• Ability to produce detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings to industry standards.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and iterate on mechanical designs and CAD models for components, assemblies, and systems.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation to manufacturing standards.
• Perform engineering analysis and support product development workflows.
• Document design decisions, assumptions, and methodologies clearly and reproducibly.
