Job summary

AfterQuery Experts is seeking a remote, project-based mechanical engineer to tackle CAD-centered design tasks across components and systems. You will contribute to design, analysis, documentation, and product development, committing 10–20 hours weekly on a flexible schedule.

You'll work asynchronously on varied projects with strong pay potential up to $100/hour, offering real-world engineering challenges and valuable portfolio-building experience with a YC-backed startup.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major CAD platform (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CATIA, NX, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to produce detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings to industry standards.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and iterate on mechanical designs and CAD models for components, assemblies, and systems.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation to manufacturing standards.
• Perform engineering analysis and support product development workflows.
• Document design decisions, assumptions, and methodologies clearly and reproducibly.

This is a remote, project-based role for mechanical engineers with hands-on experience in CAD and mechanical design.
