Job summary

rePurpose Global is seeking a Materials & Technical Compliance Engineer to join our remote-friendly US team. You’ll break products into materials, determine composition and weights, and translate data into defensible filings across US and Canadian jurisdictions.

You’ll own classification logic, model material switches and cost trade‑offs, and advise customers on design-for-circularity while collaborating with product and engineering to scale our platform.

Qualifications

• A materials or engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience analyzing multi-layer packaging materials and BOMs.
• Strong attention to detail and regulatory logic.
• Interest in policy and research with regulatory grounding.
• Clear technical communication across product, engineering, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze material composition, BOM structures, and coatings.
• Translate material data into jurisdiction-specific reporting classifications.
• Model material-switch and cost scenarios for customers.
• Own and update the classification configuration across jurisdictions.
• Perform QC checks and provide final technical sign-off.
• Support bespoke material analyses and sustainability evaluations.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to scale the platform.
