Job summary

rePurpose Global is hiring a Materials & Technical Compliance Engineer to dissect products into materials, weights, and coatings, building defensible classifications for multiple jurisdictions. You will translate material facts into precise regulatory reports and help customers with material switches and cost-optimised, circular options.

Qualifications

• A materials or engineering foundation with degree or hands-on background.
• Ability to reason about materials (resins, laminates, coatings, composites) and estimate composition/weight.
• Analytical rigor with detail-oriented, high-stakes analysis and QC.
• Interest in policy and regulatory research to ground technical decisions.
• Clear technical communication to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze material composition and BOM structures across components and coatings.
• Translate material data into jurisdiction-specific reporting classifications.
• Model material recommendations, tradeoffs, and cost implications for customers.
• Own classification logic and update it as regulations evolve.
• Perform multi-pass QC to ensure data accuracy and defensible reports.
• Answer escalated technical questions on composition and mapping.
• Contribute to automated material recommendations and platform rules.
• Bridge material science data with product and engineering needs.
