Job summary

Proximity Learning, Inc. is seeking a New Maryland Special Education Case Manager for the 2026-27 year. The role focuses on coordinating IEP services, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and professionals in virtual or in-person settings.

Ideal candidates hold an active Maryland teaching license in Special Education and have at least 2 years of case management experience. The position requires a US residence with work authorization and a 6-hour daily CST window.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Special Education Teaching License (DOE issued).
• Special Education degree or equivalent coursework.
• 2 years of Case Management experience.
• Not Currently Teaching: We cannot consider candidates who are actively teaching.
• Must be available for a block of 6 hours Mon.-Fri. between 7:00 am & 4:00 pm CST.
• Able to begin training within 2 weeks of hire.
• Proficiency in using virtual tools and resources.
• Highly comfortable with technology and quick to learn the school’s SIS platform.
• Must currently reside in the United States and have the right to work in the U.S., as we do not offer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage special education services for diverse learners in virtual or in-person settings.
• Lead IEP Revision Meetings and MDR IEP Meetings.
• Draft IEPs using district data; not conduct testing.
• Schedule and lead IEP meetings ensuring service timelines.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to implement IEPs.
• Monitor progress and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Work with service providers to support students’ development (physical, social, academic, behavioral, emotional).
• Oversee and coordinate Special Education services in a virtual setting.
• Maintain electronic records per district, state, and federal rules.
• Collect and analyze data to develop IEPs with pre- and post-assessments.
• Establish appropriate accommodations/modifications for all learning environments.
• Collaborate with district teams to ensure communication and data availability.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
