Onward Education seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Resource) for an in-person role in Talbot County, Maryland, supporting students in a Resource Room setting with an approximate 15-student caseload for the 2026-2027 school year.

Start ASAP; End date 06/08/2027. Bachelor’s degree required and Maryland teaching license or eligibility. Collaboration with general education staff and strong communication are essential for student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Maryland teaching license or eligibility per MSDE/local BOE.
• Experience in inclusive or specialized classrooms.
• Ability to collaborate with general education staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student.
• Provide small-group and 1:1 resource instruction (reading, math, social skills, interventions).
• Collaborate with general education staff to design inclusive lesson plans.
• Monitor and document student progress; adjust strategies as needed.
• Manage classroom behavior and support social skill development.
• Communicate regularly with families and support staff about progress.
