Job summary

Slalom Build is seeking an experienced Mainframe QA Lead to drive manual testing for a large core banking modernization and core deposit replacement program. You will oversee end-to-end testing across mainframe and integrated banking apps, ensuring data integrity and robust defect management.

This highly visible role requires banking domain knowledge, strong communication, and leadership across QA teams. The position is remote (EST hours) with a project-based contract, starting Oct 15, 2026 and

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software QA and testing.
• Experience leading manual testing on large enterprise programs.
• Strong mainframe applications and transactions testing.
• Navigate mainframe screens and validate data across systems.
• Experience creating and executing manual test cases and scripts.
• Hands-on with Tosca.
• Hands-on with qTest.
• Experience validating complex data elements and business rules.
• Strong defect management and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead manual testing activities for a workstream within a large core banking transformation.
• Execute test cases and validate business processes across mainframe apps.
• Create, maintain, and enhance test scripts and execution docs.
• Validate end-to-end account lifecycle across systems.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation across applications.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, developers, and QA teams.
• Support test planning, defect triage, and release readiness.
• Utilize test management and execution tools for reporting.
