Job summary

Slalom is seeking a seasoned Mainframe QA Lead to drive manual testing for a large Core Banking modernization and deposit replacement program. You will oversee end-to-end testing across mainframe and integrated banking applications, creating robust test scripts and ensuring data integrity across multiple systems.

The role is remote with EST hours, project-based contract from Oct 15, 2026 through Jun 30, 2027, and requires 7+ years in QA, mainframe expertise, and hands-on Tosca and qTest

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience.
• Proven experience leading manual testing efforts on large enterprise programs.
• Strong experience testing mainframe applications and transactions.
• Ability to navigate mainframe screens and validate data across interconnected systems.
• Experience developing and executing manual test cases and test scripts.
• Hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca.
• Hands-on experience with qTest.
• Experience validating complex data elements, business rules, and downstream processing results.
• Strong defect management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead manual testing activities for a critical workstream within a large-scale core banking transformation program.
• Execute test cases and validate business processes across mainframe and integrated banking applications.
• Create, maintain, and enhance test scripts, test scenarios, and test execution documentation.
• Validate end-to-end account lifecycle and account servicing processes across multiple systems.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accurate transmission of customer and account information between applications.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and other QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Support test planning, defect triage, status reporting, and release readiness activities.
• Utilize test management and execution tools to manage testing activities and reporting.
