Job summary

Slalom is seeking an experienced Mainframe QA Lead to support a large-scale Core Banking Modernization and Core Deposit Replacement Program. This contract-based role focuses on leading manual testing across mainframe and integrated banking applications and ensuring data integrity throughout the account lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have strong mainframe testing expertise, hands-on experience with Tosca and qTest, and excellent stakeholder management skills within a high-visibility

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience.
• Proven experience leading manual testing efforts on large enterprise programs.
• Strong experience testing mainframe applications and transactions.
• Ability to navigate mainframe screens and validate data across interconnected systems.
• Experience developing and executing manual test cases and test scripts.
• Hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca.
• Hands-on experience with qTest.
• Experience validating complex data elements, business rules, and downstream processing results.
• Strong defect management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead manual testing activities for a critical workstream within a large-scale core banking transformation program.
• Execute test cases and validate business processes across mainframe and integrated banking applications.
• Create, maintain, and enhance test scripts, test scenarios, and test execution documentation.
• Validate end-to-end account lifecycle and account servicing processes across multiple systems.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accurate transmission of customer and account information between applications.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and other QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Support test planning, defect triage, status reporting, and release readiness activities.
• Utilize test management and execution tools to manage testing activities and reporting.
