Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support core banking systems and modernize critical applications. You will work on Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Management, GL, and Tax modules using COBOL-based mainframe tech.

You will design, develop, test, and deploy mainframe solutions in a remote US role, collaborating with business analysts and QA to ensure high-quality software and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Mainframe application development
• Experience with core banking modules (Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Mgmt, GL, Tax)
• COBOL, JCL, VSAM in banking environments
• Familiarity with Endevor/Xpediter/Easytrieve tooling
• Knowledge of CICS and IMS preferred
• Experience with banking platforms (FIS Systematics preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe apps for core banking operations
• Translate business and technical requirements into mainframe solutions
• Develop and support batch jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM
• Debug, troubleshoot, fix defects, provide production support
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders
• Participate in code reviews, SIT/UAT support, and deployments
