Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in core banking applications and mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will support and enhance critical banking systems, including Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Management, General Ledger, and Tax applications, using COBOL-based mainframe environments.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications; analyze requirements; develop batch processing

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years hands-on mainframe development experience using COBOL, JCL, VSAM and batch processing.
• Strong domain knowledge in core banking including Deposits, Loans, customer and account management, GL and tax systems.
• Experience with Endevor, Xpediter, and Easytrieve or equivalent tooling is preferred.
• Knowledge of CICS and IMS is desirable and helpful for integration and support.
• Proven ability to analyze requirements, develop enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and support deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications supporting core banking operations.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate into effective mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch processing jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and other mainframe technologies.
• Perform code debugging, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders to implement system enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, SIT/UAT support, and deployment activities.
