Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support and enhance core banking systems, including deposits, loans, customer/account management, general ledger, and tax applications.

The role requires deep knowledge of COBOL-based mainframe environments, batch processing, and banking domain expertise to deliver high-quality solutions and support business objectives. Remote in the United States with flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on mainframe development experience.
• Experience with core banking modules such as deposits, loans, customer/account management, GL, and tax systems.
• Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, VSAM and batch processing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications supporting core banking operations.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch processing jobs using COBOL, JCL and VSAM.
• Perform code debugging, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders to implement system enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, SIT/UAT support, and deployment activities.
