Cognizant is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong COBOL, JCL, VSAM and core banking domain expertise to support deposits, loans, and general ledger systems.

The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications, with batch processing, debugging, and production support. Remote work within the United States is possible with flexible arrangements to support work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on mainframe development with COBOL, JCL, VSAM and batch processing.
• Strong core banking experience in Deposits, Loans, Customer/Account Management, GL, Tax.
• Experience with Endevor, Xpediter and Easytrieve; knowledge of CICS/IMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications for core banking.
• Analyze requirements and translate into effective mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM; provide production support.
