Job summary

Nelnet is seeking an experienced M365 Engineer - Modern Workplace to implement and manage Microsoft 365 services, SharePoint Online, Viva, Power Platform, Fabric, and Copilot, with governance and reliability at the core.

The role requires collaboration with business and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable collaboration solutions, automation, and analytics while maintaining documentation and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment.
• Experience governing SharePoint Online and related workloads.
• Experience with Viva, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Fabric, or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Azure services related to Modern Workplace solutions.
• Experience supporting Copilot for Microsoft 365 readiness and adoption.
• Experience with PowerShell, Graph API, REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and automation tools.
• Familiarity with MFA, Conditional Access, DLP, retention and information governance.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support SharePoint Online, Viva, Power Platform, Fabric, Azure services, and Copilot with governance, lifecycle management, reliability, and service health.
• Support collaboration sites, content management, permissions, site architecture and information governance across Microsoft 365 workloads.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify automation and digital transformation opportunities using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Copilot Studio.
• Support Fabric and Power BI administration for data integration, reporting, and analytics within governance standards.
• Administer Azure services including subscriptions, resource groups, storage, serverless services, and integrations with governance outside Entra ID.
• Support Copilot readiness, adoption, governance, and end-user enablement.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with security/compliance teams to maintain secure, compliant environment and manage change planning.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and training materials; mentor support staff.
• Monitor platform health and roadmap changes, propose improvements for reliability and user experience.
