Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a remote M365 Engineer to administer, govern, and optimize Microsoft 365 services across SharePoint Online, Viva, Power Platform, Fabric, and Azure. The role drives secure collaboration, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled workplace solutions while partnering with security, governance, and business teams.

The candidate will own platform governance, runbooks, and documentation, while mentoring staff and aligning improvements with the Microsoft roadmap and enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment.
• Experience governing SharePoint Online and related workloads.
• Proficient with Viva, Power Platform, Power BI, Copilot Studio, Fabric, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Azure services governance and app integrations.
• Experience supporting Copilot for 365 readiness and adoption.
• Strong scripting/automation with PowerShell, Graph API, REST/JSON.

Responsibilities

• Administer and govern Microsoft 365 services with focus on reliability and security.
• Support SharePoint Online content collaboration, permissions, and information governance.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify automation and reporting opportunities.
• Support Fabric and Power BI administration for data integration and analytics.
• Manage Azure services supporting Modern Workplace solutions and governance.
• Enable Copilot readiness, adoption, and end-user enablement.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Graph, and REST/JSON integrations.
