Job summary

The Standard is seeking a Disability Claims Analyst - Long Term Disability (LTD) to securely analyze claim information and approve disability decisions and payments. You will develop strategies to ensure prompt, accurate payments and liability management, while delivering responsive customer service to claimants and policyholders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 18 months progressively responsible experience in disability claims administration; 5+ years LTD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze medical, occupational, and policy information to determine LTD eligibility and resolve discrepancies within required timeframes.
• Make and communicate disability decisions, issue accurate benefits, and manage each claim with an appropriate liability and disability management strategy.
• Monitor ongoing medical updates, vocational factors, policy provisions, and deductible income to drive timely claim resolution.
• Provide proactive, professional communication to claimants, policyholders, and internal partners; resolve issues and support client-facing activities as needed.
• Support team effectiveness by approving decisions from less-experienced staff, providing training, and ensuring accurate claim data and reserve liability.
