Job summary

Starr Companies in Chicago, IL seeks a Loss Control Consultant to conduct on-site loss control surveys across high-hazard industries such as Oil & Petrochemical, Chemical, and Power Generation.

You will evaluate sprinkler systems, building construction, and fire alarm plans; review engineering accounts for underwriters; maintain inspection records; and support underwriting with risk quality insights. This is a remote role with travel ~25% and a company car is provided.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; preference for chemical, mechanical, or fire protection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site loss control surveys for high-hazard industries.
• Evaluate sprinkler systems, building construction and fire alarm plans.
• Provide guidance to underwriting staff to support risk quality.
• Maintain inspection records and survey reports.
