Job summary

Western National Insurance Group seeks a Loss Control Consultant to perform loss control surveys, assess risks, and develop service plans for accounts in Illinois. The role is remote with periodic overnight stays and occasional travel to our Edina, MN office.

You will apply OSHA, NFPA, and DOT standards, build strong underwriter and agent relationships, and deliver education and recommendations to reduce line-of-business losses while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in insurance or health and safety.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems and meet deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Analytical thinker with good risk evaluation judgment.
• Proficient with core systems and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Manage loss control assignments to improve risk and service.
• Analyze operations and exposures using loss control practices.
• Apply knowledge of codes (OSHA, NFPA, DOT) in surveys.
• Assess risk attitude for new and existing business.
• Develop service plans and consult for assigned accounts.
• Build strong underwriter and agency relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency.
