Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Logistics Supervisor to lead a team ensuring on-time, damage-free shipments while adhering to DOT, OSHA, NMFC and tariff rules.

You will coordinate with dispatch and dock staff, plan daily manpower, monitor loading, analyze routes, conduct safety meetings, and handle customer rate quotes and appointments to keep operations efficient and secure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in management preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NMFC, DOT rules and tariffs preferred.
• Ability to work in a remote location.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop company employees.
• Plan daily manpower to ensure on-time, damage-free freight delivery and pickup.
• Coordinate with dispatch and dock staff to move trailers and freight.
• Monitor dock loading techniques.
• Evaluate and reconfigure route structures and bids based on local trends.
• Conduct safety meetings and facilitate quality groups.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and appointments.
• Perform administrative tasks such as printing delivery receipts and billing freight bills.
• Ensure clean and safe working conditions and facility security.
• Communicate with Account Managers to meet customer and company needs.
• Identify freight weights and classifications that are incorrect.
• Ensure OS&D is identified and processed properly.
• Monitor performance data and gather reporting information.
• Support Operations Supervisors; conduct pre-shift meetings; enforce policy.
• Comply with applicable laws/regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
