Job summary

A.N. Deringer.com is seeking an Assistant Manager for a fully remote role aligned with our Chicago team, operating Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST. You will supervise and delegate work across import, transportation, logistics, and customs brokerage, while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities include developing a team, pursuing new sales leads, managing financials, and guiding daily CHB operations. Occasional travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Customs Broker
• 3+ years of supervisory/managerial experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and motivate a team environment, supporting direct reports to optimize performance.
• Pursue new sales leads while maintaining current clients.
• Assist in managing payables/receivables/quoting and profit & loss statement.
• Provide guidance and supervision for the daily operation of CHB colleagues.
• Monitor workflow and accurate completion of daily operations such as customer correspondence, handling claims, processing post-entry work, maintaining logs, handling collections and resolving customer problems.
• Manage the oversight and responsibilities of office colleagues, review progress, field inquiries and resolve technical problems.
• Advance effective strategies to adjust personnel and assignments to meet deadlines, including shifts.
• Conduct regular audit reviews to ensure procedures and paper flow are followed, and communicate updates to manager.
• Stay current on industry changes and company policy updates and inform the team.
• Foster and uphold a positive rapport with CBP and other government agencies regarding entry resolution.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
