Job summary

Akerman seeks a Litigation Docketing Specialist responsible for timely calendaring of cases in the centralized docketing system nationwide, including federal, appellate, and state courts. Remote option available; reports to the Docketing Manager.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of docketing experience, proficiency in MS Office, and thorough knowledge of bankruptcy courts. Experience with CompuLaw is preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of docketing experience.
• Proficient with rules-based docketing.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Detail-oriented with strong time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with CompuLaw preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Bankruptcy courts.
• Ability to interpret and analyze information.

Responsibilities

• Handle calendaring deadlines in federal, appellate and state courts nationwide.
• Review documents and emails to determine deadlines and apply key code entries.
• Respond to case teams to ensure that docket entries are accurate.
• Answer procedural questions related to date calculations.
• Assist in investigating docket issues and respond to inquiries from attorneys.
• Know how to electronically research court cases to maintain accurate records.
• Learn and demonstrate knowledge of court rules across federal/state systems and arbitration courts.
• Assist with special projects as assigned by Docketing Manager.
