Job summary

Canonical is seeking a seasoned Linux-focused engineer to tackle critical issues across Linux-based infrastructure, OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes. The role emphasizes debugging, upstream contributions, and collaboration with field and product teams.

Qualifications

• Professional experience troubleshooting advanced Linux issues.
• Background in Computer Science, STEM or similar.
• Exceptional experience with Linux, LXD, OpenStack, Ceph or Kubernetes.
• Strong debugging experience with Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux.
• Ability to troubleshoot with gdb, pdb, tcpdump or other tools.
• Familiarity with git source code repositories and branches.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph and/or Kubernetes.
• Maintain relationships with Canonical's field, support and product engineering teams.
• Participate in upstream communities and contribute patches as needed.
• Debug issues and propose workarounds or fixes for upstreams and Ubuntu.
• Communicate clearly and coordinate with teams; manage priorities.
