Job summary

CIQ is seeking a Linux Kernel Development Engineer to build and maintain the Linux kernel for Rocky Linux and related products. You will lead kernel design and work with hardware teams to ensure integration, writing modular C code and developing testing tools.

Applicants should have 5+ years in kernel development, strong low-level programming, and experience with Git. Remote work options apply; travel is minimal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux kernel development with driver focus.
• Extensive experience designing and developing kernel components.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel components for CIQ products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate into kernel designs.
• Write high-quality C code, follow standards, and document APIs.
• Develop and maintain kernel testing and automation tools for build, test, release.
• Debug kernel-level issues including memory management and IPC.
