Job summary

CIQ is seeking a Linux Kernel Development Engineer to build and maintain the Linux kernel for Rocky Linux-based products. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable kernel designs and deliver high-quality C code.

You will develop kernel testing, diagnose complex issues, and collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure smooth integration across platforms. Mentorship and documentation are also part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in C programming and low-level system programming.
  • 5+ years in Linux kernel development, including devices and drivers.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and maintenance of kernel components for CIQ products/services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into efficient kernel designs.
  • Write high-quality, modular, and well-documented C code, adhering to coding standards.
  • Develop and maintain kernel testing and automation tools to improve build, test, and release processes.
  • Debug and resolve complex kernel-level issues, including memory management and IPC.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless kernel-hardware integration.
  • Stay updated with Linux kernel advancements and assess relevancy to CIQ products.
  • Review code submissions and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality.
  • Document design decisions, APIs, and processes for future reference.
  • Provide mentorship to junior developers.
