Job summary

Planet Green Search is seeking a Field Technician focused on commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting lighting control systems. The role is 100% remote with significant travel, primarily domestic U.S., with Dallas area preferred for Texas projects.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with commercial lighting controls, NX Controls as the primary platform, and strong documentation and communication skills. Travel 50–75% is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience commissioning and programming commercial lighting control systems.
• Strong understanding of networked lighting controls and zone-based programming.
• Ability to read control schematics, riser diagrams, and system layouts.
• Process-oriented with excellent documentation habits.
• Clear verbal and written communication with field and corporate stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% domestically, with heavy focus on Texas projects.

Responsibilities

• Commission, program, and troubleshoot lighting control systems on-site, including sensors and network backbone.
• Work primarily with NX Controls; experience with Lutron, Crestron, Leviton, or Wattstopper is valuable.
• Diagnose and resolve control, communication, and performance issues with contractors and GC teams.
• Maintain documentation of commissioning activities, as-builts, test results, and issue resolution.
• Communicate effectively with field crews, project managers, and internal team.
• Represent the company professionally on active construction sites.
• Support project closeout and handoff documentation.
