Job summary

Pearson is seeking evaluators to score teacher licensure responses remotely from the Malta, NY area. Candidates must have an active teaching certification or recent experience in the content field and can work from home with a fixed weekday scoring schedule.

Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, with opportunities to score across multiple subjects including Business, Health, Physical Education, School Counselor, and Theater.

Qualifications

• Must have current teaching certification or recent teaching experience in the relevant content area
• Open to educators from colleges/universities who taught or advised content in the last 3 years
• Degree in the content area with recent professional employment in that field

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring
• Recognize and discuss bias types and apply strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test
• Working remotely; scoring sessions scheduled Mon–Fri, with occasional sessions every 8 weeks
