Job summary

The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) seeks a Licensing Specialist to perform regulatory inspections and licensing actions across the Northern Region. Qualifications

• Understanding of clinical assessments and how they tie to service plan development and implementation.
• Experience with individuals with substance use disorders, mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities.
• Ability to interpret regulations and policies and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Licensing Specialist in the Northern Region, providing regulatory technical assistance and conducting inspections and investigations.
• Issue and modify licenses and review requests to modify services.
• Develop and implement systemic corrective actions for areas found not in compliance and advise providers on how to achieve compliance.
