Job summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a Liability Claims Specialist to manage non-complex medical and minor liability claims under close supervision. The role offers remote, onsite, and hybrid work arrangements, with opportunities to learn and grow within a supportive claims team.

The position focuses on assessing coverage, validity, and reserving, while ensuring adherence to client and carrier guidelines and collaborating on more complex files as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industry claims experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Active Adjuster’s License in state of operation required.
• Multi-State license preferred.
• Ability to learn rapidly and develop claims knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage non-complex medical and minor lost-time liability claims under close supervision.
• Receive claims, confirm policy coverage and acknowledgment of the claim.
• Determine validity and compensability of the claim.
• Establish reserves and authorize payments within reserving limits.
• Communicate claim status with customer, claimant, and client.
• Adhere to client and carrier guidelines; participate in claims review as needed.
• Collaborate with team on more complex or problematic claims.
• Additional duties as assigned.
