Job summary

Xsolla is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with a strong payments and fintech background to join our global legal team remotely in the United States. You will provide strategic guidance on payment processing, regulatory compliance, and digital commerce.

You will draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, advise on licensing and market entry, and partner with product and engineering to build compliant, scalable payment solutions across markets.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in the US, in good standing.
• 5+ years in fintech, banking, and/or payments with regulatory expertise.
• Proven ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent drafting skills with experience negotiating complex agreements.
• Collaborates well with product, technology, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with payment service providers, banks, and networks.
• Advise on payment processing operations end-to-end, including onboarding methods and settlement frameworks.
• Support KYC/KYB, AML/CFT, sanctions screening, and due diligence across markets.
• Assist licensing, entity structuring, and international market entry.
• Provide clear legal guidance on strategic business decisions and payment strategies.
• Maintain knowledge of laws governing payments, crypto, and DeFi.
• Identify regulatory changes and analyze impact on money movement and strategy.
• Draft, review, and negotiate licensing, vendor, and partnership agreements.
• Collaborate with business and tech teams to develop compliant products.
• Proactively identify risks and propose practical solutions.
• Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
