Job summary

Blackbaud seeks an experienced payments lawyer to guide global payments businesses and international operations. You will advise on product design, market expansion and complex regulatory matters, including cross-border funds flow, AML and sanctions.

You will draft and negotiate agreements with processors, financial institutions and partners, balancing commercial goals with risk and compliance. Remote-ready role with global scope.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant legal experience in payments/fintech or regulated tech.
• Juris Doctor and active status with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Experience advising on complex payment products and regulatory matters across jurisdictions.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills with ability to translate complex rules.

Responsibilities

• Advise as a senior legal adviser to global payments businesses on product design and expansion.
• Draft and negotiate complex agreements with processors, banks, networks and partners.
• Guide on money transmission, card network rules, AML, sanctions, consumer protection and cross-border flow.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, Treasury, Risk and Compliance on scalable compliance.
• Support treasury, regulatory reviews and manage external counsel when needed.
