Job summary

Brex is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to help build and scale spend management software products globally while ensuring regulatory compliance. You will partner with engineering, product, and design teams from ideation through launch to translate complex regulatory and card network requirements into practical product decisions.

You will work closely with privacy, security, compliance, marketing, and partnerships to navigate data privacy, consumer protection, and commercial issues across fintech

Qualifications

• 4+ years working experience in law firms and technology/fintech companies.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and international credit and card laws (TILA/Reg Z, ECOA/Reg B, UDAP/UDAAP) and disclosures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for internal memos and external agreements.
• Ownership mentality and ability to handle complex matters with sound judgment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset for fast-paced environments.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded legal partner to engineering, product, and design teams on spend management software features.
• Provide pragmatic advice on requirements and best practices for product features and disclosures.
• Advise on regulatory and commercial implications of product architecture and data flows.
• Advise cross-functional partners on credit, lending, and card regulatory questions.
• Draft and maintain customer agreements and terms for spend management software.
• Support data handling, integrations, and partner arrangements for launches.
